Extension Interests:
Dr. Reid Redden is a Sheep and Goat Specialist for Texas A&M AgriLife Extension based in San Angelo. His primary responsibility is to support county-based educational programs and lead state-wide efforts that benefit the state sheep and goat industry. Notably, Reid and his team have built a large social media following, compose monthly industry columns, and maintain a strong YouTube presence. His programs are designed to provide solutions to current problems facing sheep and goat raisers, such a quantifiable genetic improvement, mitigating predator losses, and improving integrated parasite control. Dr. Redden works to bring all aspects of the industry together and serves on several national committees and boards.
Research Interests:
Dr. Redden serves as the Interim Resident Director for the Texas A&M AgriLife San Angelo and Sonora Research Centers. He oversees faculty members located at these locations. And works with center staff to manage the land and livestock resources spread across 5 counties and over 10,000 acres.

BS, Animal Sciences – Texas A&M University, 2004
Background:
Dr. Redden grew up on a diversified ranch in Utopia Texas. His family raised sheep, goats, and cattle. They also owned and operated a restaurant and meat packing plant. His passion for small ruminants was forged from raising and showing club lambs. This passion inspired Reid to pursue a high education in animal science with an emphasis on small ruminants.
