American Water-Willow is found growing in wet and swampy grounds of the Edwards Plateau. The erect stems can be 6 to 24 inches tall. The smooth, dark green leaves are from two and a half to four inches long and about one inch wide. The white flowers are found on small spikes, about one to six inches long, and have purple markings in the throat. American water-willow blooms from April to October.
