The Slimpod Milkvetch is a low, weakly upright annual that grows between six to fourteen inches in height. The magenta flowers are few to several and are congested in short, roundish terminal clusters approximately 1/2 an inch long. The leaves reach 2 3/4 inches in length with each blade divided into eleven to seventeen individual leaflets. Slimpod Milkvetch can be found in open areas, prairies, pastures, along hills, slopes and woodland edges. This plant is native to the South Texas Plains and Edwards Plateau and blooms from March to May.
