Wilmann Lovegrass has been introduced from South Africa. It can be found growing in various soils, especially sandy sites, of the South Texas Plains and Edwards Plateau. It is a 2 to 3 feet tall bunchgrass that does not resemble other native lovegrasses. Wilmann Lovegrass is drought resistant and recovers easily from intense grazing. White-tailed deer and cattle readily utilize this plant as green forage or as hay. The dense undergrowth provides a habitat for quail and other small mammals.
