Roemer acacia is a wide canopied shrub with prickled branches that can get as high as fifteen feet. It is found on the South Texas Plains and the Edwards Plateau, it flowers April to October. Insects, small mammals and deer use Roemer acacia for food while birds use it for cover and so do small mammals. Humans us it as an ornamental and for developing honey.
