Joining The Gadhave Lab
Information for Prospective Postdocs and Students
The Gadhave Lab is committed to training ambitious scientists who want to understand insect–virus–plant systems at a mechanistic level and translate discovery into durable agricultural solutions.
At this time, there are no open positions in the lab.
However, prospective students and scholars who are strongly aligned with the lab’s research vision are welcome to reach out to discuss future opportunities.
Graduate Students
The lab trains M.S. and Ph.D. students who are prepared to think rigorously, work independently, and aim high. Master’s students typically enroll at West Texas A&M University (Canyon) while conducting research in the Gadhave Lab. Ph.D. students enroll through the Department of Entomology at Texas A&M University (College Station), completing initial coursework before transitioning to full-time research.
Training is immersive and multidisciplinary, spanning molecular biology, insect vector biology, plant virology, and quantitative approaches across laboratory, greenhouse, and field systems. Students are expected to publish, pursue competitive fellowships, present at scientific meetings, and develop the professional skills required for leadership in research-intensive careers.
Postdoctoral Scholars
Postdoctoral training in the Gadhave Lab is structured to prepare scholars for independence. Emphasis is placed on conceptual leadership, grant development, mentoring experience, and high-impact publications.
While there are currently no open postdoctoral positions, highly motivated candidates with independent funding or strong alignment with the lab’s direction are encouraged to initiate a conversation regarding future possibilities.
Undergraduate Researchers
Undergraduate researchers gain hands-on experience in experimental design, data collection, and analysis across laboratory and field settings.
Openings are limited and project-dependent. Students interested in future opportunities are encouraged to inquire early.
